As a proud member of the Cherokee Nation, my work is grounded in reconnection to the land, to community, and to the deeper stories that live in our food systems. My own journey of decolonization and returning to the Portland Native community continually shapes how I see the world, reminding me to create from a place of gratitude and reciprocity.
My heritage, queerness, and my ongoing journey through decolonization and reconnection to community deeply inform my work. This process has shaped how I approach visual storytelling with awareness, consent, and care.
Hi, I’m Brigit
My values show up not just in what I photograph, but in how I work. I approach visual storytelling with care, transparency, and intention, creating a collaborative experience that honors boundaries and lived experience. As a trauma-informed creative, I hold space for clients and collaborators in ways that honor their stories, identities, and boundaries.
My path started with a disposable camera and a flamingo at the San Diego Zoo—hours spent waiting for the perfect light, long before I knew that patience would become one of my greatest tools as a photographer. Nearly two decades, four states, and countless journeys later, that same curiosity and care guide every image I create.
My goal is for every session to feel grounding, respectful, and collaborative. This unique combination allows me to support your goals with strategic insight, ensuring your brand stands out and achieves measurable success.
I partner with ethical food and beverage brands and local makers who put care and intention into everything they do. Together, we celebrate color, flavor, and story through images that are as vibrant and honest as your mission.

My Path to Purpose as an Indigenous Food Photographer
I weave photography into every aspect of my life. It’s always been this way; first with disposable cameras, later as the one at every meal saying, “Wait, let me get a photo before you dig in!”
Raised in Northeast Portland in a multicultural home, I always had a kitchen filled with good food. Cooking early on taught me the value of resourcefulness, creativity, and making beauty out of “the mess.”
Nothing about my journey here has been traditional.
As an Indigenous queer creative, I carry both pride and responsibility in how I show up.
My work is grounded in decolonizing the visual narrative; creating space for authenticity, reciprocity, and belonging in an industry that too often overlooks the stories behind the food.
I’m continually reconnecting with my heritage, deepening my understanding of traditional foodways, and honoring the communities and lands that nourish us.
I’ve found resilience through adversity. Every step, every curveball, shaped how I see the world and what I bring to clients: tenacity, empathy, and a capacity to find beauty and meaning in unlikely places.
